  1. Hi Gary, I have always found that using the best tyres give you the best drive. In the days before front wheel driving had come I have to use very strong rear wheel tyres which got me safely from my home in Widnes to my work in North Wales every day. The tyres I had where similar to those on tractors and lasted for a long time in the snow! Regards, Peter.
  2. Welcome to the Club, Nigel. Your information will be of great use. If you look at "Forums". you will see a Forum for XF owners. [Jaguar Models\ The club is a wide one and good information can be found and often picked up in any area. Best Wishes, Peter.
  3. Welcome to the Club, Graham. I used to spend some time in both Neath and Port Talbot in the days when there a lot of Steel. I was a member [and still am] of the ISTC now Community and retired in June 1999. The XJ is the car used by the Government Members and is real class. I have an 2007 S type which I have driven for almost 9 years and still runs very well. Regards, Peter.
  4. Hi Brian, Try David Manners Ltd or SNG Bassetts, — Both have good websites. It is possible that Halfords knows someone who is able to produce your requirements, Regards, Peter.
  5. When Jaguar bought the Halewood factory the last Mondeo had a Jaguar Badge. Six months later the X Type went on to the road. It was a different car although some of the engines were similar to Ford. The s type used the chassis of the Lincoln. Both these cars were real Jaguars. I lived 5 miles away from Halewood and when the Mondeo finished so did Ford of Halewood. Full stop. Peter
  6. Welcome to the club, Lynne. I think that the two releases at the top of the seatsshould let the seats go down after the two releases inside the boot at either side have been pulled out. I did have an x type 10 years ago and they were similar to my s type. Let me know if it works. Regards, Peter.
  7. Welcome to the club, Ken. The 2.7 diesel engine is a rather good one, and with a good mileage on long runs. I have an S type with the same engine and on an 90 mile run I got 50.2 mpg on a motorway with road works and 46 mpg on the return trip on a motorway without road works, The petrol engine is a good one but will not have the same mpg, but will have good shorter journeys. Regards, Peter.
  8. Hi Jed, I am not a fan of number plates so I cannot give you any interest as such. You can often get someone who is interested in number plates. I have several close to where I live. Good Luck Peter.
  9. Welcome to the club, Peter. I have a similar s type - I have had mine for almost 9 years which says that I am really enjoying mine. Enjoy and regards Peter Not my house — on holiday in the Trough of Bowland.
