  3. Hi Tom, please can you give me a quick lesson in Sport model names.. I'm looking at getting a 2.0D as I want an economical car but I also much prefer the sport models as they sit slightly lower. So is the premium Sport model called a Sovereign X Type? Many thanks for your help
  4. Thank you Andrew, my fault, I forgot to say, in a saloon X type... Does anyone know if the rear seats fold in the saloon to make the boot bigger?
  5. I am soon to buy an X Type, and wondered, do the rear seats fold down to make more space in the boot for long objects to slide through under the shelf? Kind Regards
  6. this is great news Mick, thanks again so much for your help!! You guys have been brilliant and so patient with my lack of knowledge Thanks again!!! ;)
  7. At what mileage should a cambelt be changed? I'm thinking, should I be looking for a car that states a new cambelt, if I'm only spending 3.5K?
  8. Very interesting thank you Peter.. Jim your sons can cools great! is that a sport? How much did he pay for it? I'm looking for a Black 2.0 Diesel sport with leather interior for 3.5K.. I'm wondering what I should expect the mileage to be.. Prices and mileage seem to vary so much when I look on autotrader

  12. Thanks again with all this info Mick.. Great great help! Please can you tell me why people, say the X Type is related to a Ford Mondeo? is this a joke because of looks or a technical things I should update myself on? Ha... (I'm learning)
  13. This is so helpful, thank you very much Mick!!!
  14. great thank you Mick.. are the skirts bigger then? Do these changes apply to the 2.0 d Sport as well? and also what is the difference in the 2.0d SE? Thank you so much for your help... I really appreciate this..
  15. oh really... i just sensed there was more skirt and general sporty looking things on this car in the link above? but that must be my eyes... :) Thank you Peter, that's good to know..
  16. Please tell me.. what is the difference in body work shape with the X Type Sport? For example I love this car here, but u cant work out what is different to look at, if anything? Ha.. Is there? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403052272087/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/3500/model/x-type/price-to/4000/radius/1500/page/2/postcode/gu48lw/fuel-type/diesel/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/colour/black/make/jaguar?logcode=p
  17. Thanks guys.. I'm learning so much, your all a great help.. thank you!!
  18. Thank you again guys, This is all good to know, and I'm most definitely still in and looking for a diesel X Type. Those figures are all pretty good really. Would you say these cars are good for long journey driving and reliability? i.e if i buy a car for 3.5K with a few miles on the clock, and the car is good and straight, am I likely to still get a lot of millage out of it with no problems?
  19. Great, this is all good...My brother has a new audi a3 (supposedly very economical car.) It costs him 65 to fill with diesel and he get 700 miles a tank on a best run. so this is all pretty similar figures.. Which is what I needed to hear :) Thank you all...
  20. hey Jim 795 miles on a full tank is great. how much does it cost to fill the tank? You see I will be driving motorways doing 150 miles a day on my own.. hence why I'm thinking this is a great car for me, as this is the kind of mpg you get from a new Audi A3 for example.. when you say roughly what your getting,is there a display in the car that tells you as your driving along? Please excuse all my questions, but I love these cars and I've never even been in one before :)
  21. do you know anyone with a diesel x type? I just wondered big the tank is? I will be using the car for long motorway drives, hence wanting a diesel which does around 63mpg.
  22. Cool, thank you so much for this...
  23. oh wow!! thanks!! I will keep in touch.. I have just called Mark Ussher, so will be keeping on touch with him, as if he still has that car next month or so, or another one, he'll let me know.. Thanks again!
  24. This is Billiant, thank you very much!! I will let you know for sure... it may not be in the next few weeks tho.. I have a bit if time yet. But I will make contact with this dealer so thanks again!!!!
