  1. Thanks Richard. All sensors working. I even tried replacing the control box without any success. I have ordered the same beeper as shown in your post so should it work, then fine. If not then £10 not such a big loss. I will keep you posted. Even considered fitting a reversing camera and video adapter for the built in screen so we shall see how it goes. Regards Stewart
  2. Will have to try this. My reverse no longer "beeps" and it never occurred to me to consider there was a "beeper" anywhere. Strange really as I have fitted reversing sensors to my Puma complete with "beep"! Reminds me of advice about eliminating the obvious! Thanks for the post.
  3. Evening all Just thought I would post a picture of the air filter replaced in my S Type today. A good car that has been serviced by main dealers - should I name them? Anyway, the one man non-franchised garage (he also looks after my other cat - Ford Puma) who serviced my car said this air filter must have been in for years. Why did the main dealers not change this before now? Just goes to show if you can find "a man" to look after your cars they are worth looking after and giving them your business. Stewart
  4. Hello all When cold, I ease off the throttle to engage 6th gear above 50mph. When warmed up 6th gear comes in on its own just above 50 mph. The diesel engine does takes a long time to warm up, especially this time of year. It's been like this since I bought the car two years ago - 52,000 miles on the clock. Stewart
  5. Thanks Peter and Harv I have been quoted £500 for undersealing, including removal of sills. I bought some of the plastic clips as advised by the rustproofer. Given Harv's comment about build up of "wet muck" I will get it done. Love the car and never cease to amazed by it's comfort, ease of driving and effortless power - and the economy of a smaller car on a run! Thanks again. Stewart
  6. Good morning I am contemplating having my 2007 S Type professionally undersealed. The car has 60,000 miles on the clock. Will this be worthwhile or did Jaguar build in enough rust protection? Stewart
  7. Evening all. My S Type was registered in January 2008. As production ceased in the same year, how would I find out how many were produced after mine? Thanks for any advice.
  8. Evening all. I was looking to connect music from my iPhone to my S Type's sound system. I have already tried Autosounds without success. Thinking about using my 15% discount card I went to Halfords. The friendly sales adviser checked the computer and recommended a VF0X001 Aux Adapter. Price and fitting £91 after discount so booked in the car to have it fitted. On the day, car was left for the fitting. However, I received a telephone call to say the adapter cannot be fitted. The reason was...

  9. Hello Kenny As far as I know it is some sort of chemical compound (not diluted) with higher boiling point and less corrosive aspects than water and antifreeze combined. Stewart
  10. Evening all Does anyone have experience of using waterless coolant in their S Type diesel - or other types? Stewart
  11. Hello Richard My daughter drove TT Quattro and like you I found the ride hard. My last car was a Mazda 6 with 18 inch wheels and was a significantly harder ride than the previous Mazda 6 with 17 inch wheels! Stewart
  12. Ps. I also drive a Ford Puma - probably quicker and more nimble than my S Type but opposite in every other way. Both are fun to drive in different ways! Stewart
  13. Hello Richard and Karen Bought my first Jaguar S Type (with "devil's fuel" - not true) last November and I am getting to love the effortlessness of power delivery. I tootle around in it - but put it in Sport mode and - whoosh, off it flies! We don't buy Jaguars for fuel economy but 35 mpg just knocking about and 45 mpg on a long run is a bonus. The S Type is styled like the Jags I grew up admiring so was my car of choice. An XF is the modern style and not to my taste but they are brilliant cars with the benefit of updated technology. Buy the best you can afford and enjoy! Stewart
  14. Hello One of my daughters lives in Newton Abbot but we always travel by train. Too far to drive for me, even in a Jaguar!
