  1. I have fixed the Bonnet problem because hte bonnet catch on the drivers side did not engage properly because the catch was so dry all i did was soak it in WD40 and its was fixed.when i gently dropped it down. Shame it was not looked at properly when it was sold to me three weeks ago. But what a wonderful car i now have.
  2. Hi This is something i found out this last weekend having a lot of miles to cover from Wiltshire to Aberdeen for a wedding, my daughters actualy . Nearly had a heart attack seeing the bonnet bounce up and down on the drivers side.. I had gently closed the bonnet after looking in the engine compartment.prior to driving a long way and topping up the washer bottle. I had to stop when travelling at 65-75 MPH and seeing the bonnet vibrating in strong winds, I have now found out that the drives bonnet lock was not fully grabbing the bonnet clamp. I was relieved to find that this XF has two bonnet lock mechanisms. I only had this car three weeks so i am disappointed. I now have to use up my Diesel to take it to HA FOX in Southampton and book it in to have it adjusted under warranty. I can see a difference in the bonnet to wing edge on the drivers side. Hope it gets fixed..
  3. Hi Thats a shock.to find out this this is an issue. I have a X type 2002 and had to have the sump taken down and resealed.as it was a common fault with them after covering large mileage. The oil was dripping onto the exhaust front pipe and when heated it could be smelt driving along. Most modern cars have engine floor pans that help with smoothing the air flow under the vehicle. See if you can find a tale tale leak if possible? Good luck.
