  1. I have the same year and model Had it nearly 4 years with no problems and love it. ENJOY !
  2. Great videos and timing. Already have XKR convertible but looking to add an XK8 (coupe probably) to the growing stable
  3. Go for it --you only need one kidney anyway. Sounds like a great price for a 2005
  4. the older ones (pre 2006) are only £250 p.a and I pay £195 insurance but I live in the sticks.
  5. difficult to answer but when I bought mine ( actually swapped it for my S type --lucky me) I sent it straight to a Jag specialist (on a transporter ) and told them to make it right. Cost me 2k but they sorted everything. Most expensive was a knock sensor that needed replacing. (had to remove supercharger and loads more) Wheel bearing, suspension and discs. Oh and oil cooler that was leaking. Thankfully haven`t had to spend anything in last 2 years since then but I don`t drive it very much. A lot of parts not as scary as you might think. Checkout a couple of sites eg http://www.xk8-parts.com/ Next job, noticed a few bubbles behind rear arch so will get that done in spring and fitting remote roof control PS Am actively thinking of adding an XK8 to the stable for my wife---of course
  6. If you are looking at an earlier model the most important thing is to check the history and make sure the timing chains have been sorted. Earlier ones had plastic tensioners .If they go in mid flight it can do a lot of damage to engine. Rust, rust and rust--no getting away from it i`m afraid. Check sills ,subframes ,floorpans and behind rear wheel arches. Good news is that it can all be sorted. Owning one of these is great but it will cost you. If you are scared of that prospect then my advice is look elsewhere. Harsh but true. BUT its a fantastic car. I splashed on an XKR a couple of years ago and even though it costs a few bob now and again the novelty value has still not worn off. Good luck
  7. I have a 2010 3.0 Diesel XF and recently returned 43 on a long run. Around town it drops to around 30 ish so you would be about right.
  8. I just sold mine-an 05 on Gumtree. ( got no response on Ebay) I also bought my XKR on same. Got to be worth trying as its free.
  9. good luck--7.7k is way too cheap--theres a reason for it. Unless its over 150k miles. Still wouldnt touch it. Don`t be tempted to go cheap--After having owned 7 Jags --its not worth it. Just seen where you are--maybe have a word with the guys at Prestige Jaguar in Paisley. I`m up in Aberdeen but thats where I sent my XKR to be sorted.
  10. I waited a good long while for mine and bought it from local garage that I trust ( !! ?)--Probably paid a wee bit too much but if anything goes wrong its on my doorstep. just as a comparison for you --2010 XF 3.0d Premium Luxury S 57k 2 owners FJSH 12 month warranty £ 11500 only had it few weeks but so far etc...offered silly money for S Type in p/ex but I sold that privately yesterday .
  11. Go newer if same price---when you eventually go to p/ ex it they only go by book value--As i discovered recently bells and whistles etc make no difference just year and mileage. ps I just bought a 2010 xf luxury S --love it.
  12. NOW WITHDRAWN AS A KEEPER-- MOD PLEASE DELETE AS NECCESSARY
  13. lol---quite happy how it is. EDIT .Just had another look and never noticed it has been changed. Never even noticed. If anyone wants it its now 2k no offers. ---looks like i`m keeping it .(secretly quite pleased)
  14. Hi--sorry no idea been like this since new. I bought it (first time ) in 2008. I bought the car a second time a couple of years ago and it was still the same.
  15. Thanks. if it doesn't find a good home I think i'll just keep it .
  16. can`t believe no takers so now up for auction on *bay
  17. The 3.0 diesel is pretty powerful and refined (but then it did cost 4 times as much) Still going to miss the S Type though. I actually bought it more for the larger cabin size .
  18. Well after much "discussion" with the missus the S Type is now sadly in the "For Sale" section. Slight technical hitch now resolved with Insurance company mirroring no claims etc.
