  1. Thanks for the technical info...I will attempt to diagnose the faults on the weekend and update if any results.
  2. Best website to fit ACM is http://www.jimrothe.com/jaguar/acm-bluetooth/acm.html
  3. Yes it is a simple process. The ACM box is like a small router type device which sits in the gear lever/ gaiter console...I.e. take the gear stick apart and lift the fascia...the ACM box can be placed there and wire can be connected to the audio system...then just route the connection wires I.e. aux/usb/ipod wires which can be placed in the centre console. You will need to drill 2 or 3 holes in centre console to hold the connection hub. You can find lots of instructions online.
  4. The ACM would be best obtained via a Jaguar breaker: try Parts Gateway or Just Jags or XTypeparts.com
  5. I dont really use the nav as well but you would be surprised how useful it can be when you are lost; as I was recently in South Shields...with no phone signal!!
  6. The touchscreen nav was already fitted on mine but I have taken apart recently and I think the wiring loom is fitted as standard to all jaguars so that units can be easily interchangeable. It would not make sense to have different wiring looms e.g. if a customer wanted a sat nav fitting after purchasing new.
  7. No worries. Whilst you are at it you may also want to add the Jaguar ACM module. This will enable ipod/ USB/aux devices to be played from within the centre armrest console.
  8. Battery was disconnected on old boy for a while and seems like has caused some errors on the audio system. The radio/CD/sat nav (Denso) are working fine as is the remote control on steering wheel. However I cannot activate the CDC function or connect USB to the ACM module that is located in the centre armrest. Also no bluetooth is showing; it just says No Phone is Fitted". I have tried to activate the system using the "secret" diagnostic menu - Hold Phone & Menu together for 5 seconds and when asked for a diag pin enter 1971. Although I would not mess with the software updates etc as things could go wrong!! Im going to check the fibre optic connections to the ACM tomorrow which are located under the gear lever gaiter console. Doe anyone know where the bluetooth module is located?
  9. You will not only gain a sat nav with the touchscreen but also: Touchscreen climate control Jaguar screensaver Telephone keypad (if bluetooth or phone kit fitted) Clock Touchscreen radio/cd/cdc and audio controls So well worth the install.
  10. If it has climate control and DVD reader in boot then you are good to go! If you source a Denso Sat Nav unit off eBay or Jag breakers you can actually install it in 10 mins!! For a "how to guide" search Remove Sat Nav X Type on Youtube...I know you will be installing it but the reverse process is similar as funnily I could not find a video of the install process!
  11. Mike can be found on eBay under userID BlackCountryJaguar
  12. Update: Finally fixed! It was a loose connection on connector. Also needed a dealer radio code...recommend Black Country Jaguar for any Jag radio code (Thanks Mike!)
  13. Update: It turns out a connection was loose on terminals hence no power. Unit is working now however new problem! It asks for radio code; I dont have this. Looking on forums I tried the following method: I entered random code 3 times until says please wait, I then entered >> AMEM PTY and code is deactivated and nav, bluetooth working but says Radio Off. Tried everything radio/cd will not work, sat nav is fine though. Also when I switch car off and turn back on the whole cycle starts again I.e. asks for radio code...no sat nav or phone works until do the whole >> AMEM PTY mallarkey...any tips gents?!
  14. Update: I have tried battery disconnection reset and fuses seem OK. I am thinking to disconnect DVD rom and re-connect...maybe the old boy just needs a wake up call!
  15. Thanks for the tips chaps; I have tried both methods and unfortunately the DVD will not come out. I cannot hear any mechanism moving on the DVD reader. I will have a look at the fuses later today & will attempt a battery disconnection and full discharge.
  16. Hi,my X type was parked for some time and battery drained. When I parked it the Nav was working fine. Having got it back on road last week and replaced battery; I get the dreaded C1 50 51 error and blank screen. Also I cannot remove Sat Nav Dvd from nav reader; it is non responsive. Any tips or help much appreciated as I am slowly roasting in the car due to blower always on! :-P
