if my car was to have the wiring already... were would jaguar hide the connector ?

I have found the wiring diagram and to were it connect to the cluster... this doesn't seem right I was lead to belive it goes through a relay and the control module in the drivers side kick panel. can some one confirm this ? or if I wire it straight in to the cluster will it work?

I no the 2.5l and 3.0l x types have the electric assist on the steering rack.. I have just fit a steering rack off a 3.0l on to my 2.0d . can I retrofit the wiring for servotronic as the replacement rack came with the servo and part of the wiring.

I had the cat up in the air yesterday to give it a oil service and noticed the intercooler is still leaking on the drivers side end... I no it isn't the hose leaking as ive had this off about 5 times and replaced with a new clip , plus its dry. but the join between the end cap and the core is wet. (black sludge , oil ) .. can this intercoolers be repaired or is it best to replace? plus this would answer my low mpg. 43mpg on 100 mile round trip cruising at 70mph 90% of the journey..

think I may have cured the black smoke issue.... changed the partial egr blank to a full egr blank and the smoke has cut down atleast 99%..

the car isn't driven gently.. always gets a hard clear out atleast twice a week... regeneration it doesn't have as it doesn't have a dpf filter. and it doesn't really answer my question

so im still having problems with my 2.0d cat. and smoking underload. ive pin pointed it down to smoking underload between 1500 and 2500rpm .. ive done the test with disconnecting the maf and seeing if anything changes but it still smokes badly and also doesn't throw up any fault codes list of things done : egr , inlet and intercooler clean egr blank with 4mm hole egr to intercooler hose boost leak fix service ran on v power nitro diesel for 2 months with eco millers fuel additive in every tank new injectors and fuel pump and fuel filter 8 months ago by previous owner. could this be the mass air flow metre knackered ? im trying to pin point the problem with out spending big money

I run v power diesel through my cat . but still only getting 37 - 39mpg.. and with the car having 250000 miles on the clock im sure the internals are rather clogged. im at the minute running millers eco max through it . which I have been for the last month or so.

so ive been looking through youtube etc at terraclean and a diy water decarbonisation came up. has any one done this on there diesels? im tight so looking at saving money :)

must of been lucky :) plus I use the m25 every night for work so I no were they hide. anyway it had a blast down the m11 m25 and a10 . of course kept in the speed limit ;)

haha na it was around 11pm at night so was clear.

checked it all earlier from the inlet to outlet of the turbo even the resonator on the hose from the turbo. plus turbo outlet is dry within reason just a bit of gunk which I expected due to the rocker cover breather going to the inlet of the turbo. shaft in turbo seems fine with no play . looks like its had a new turbo at some point.. im going to take it to the garage hopefully next week... just to cross out that it needs a good run to clear it out aswell it had a 110 mile round trip down the m25 and m11 to London yesterday and only returned 39mpg. and its still smoking badly

ive read up on the terraclean but I want to exactly pin point the problem I don't want to be splashing money away and it doesn't cure it

its black soot.. its also had a service including all filters.

ive been having a problem with excessive smoke under load with my 2.0D.. I was told to blank the egr and it will help but it hasn't... a list of things that's been done in the last year. 4 new injectors and fuel pump with fuel system flush and new filter ( nothing to say the injectors have been coded ) inlet , egr , intercooler cleaned boost leak fixed on egr to intercooler hose egr blank ran on vpower diesel with millers ecomax fuel additive for the last month doing 350miles a week is there anything else that could be causing the excessive smoke ? the mpg is also down im only getting on average 37mpg with mixed driving

I need to replace my trackrod ends but what size is the locking nut ? I thought it may be 22mm but it isn't.

I have emailed the company who carried out the work to see if they were coded

could this be a symptom of injectors not being coded ?

I no I had a boost leak on the egr to intercooler due to a rotten clip... anyway I replaced that cleaned it all up made sure everything was tight and checked the hoses for splits... ive noticed today that the maf sensor is wet. are the sensors a known problem to leak ? I no it isn't the circlips leaking.

forgot to add .. it had new injectors and a fuel pump 6 months before I got the car.. along with a fuel system clean

ive read in places that people are getting low 40s to 60s from a tank on these diesels... im only getting 36mpg to a tank. ive cleaned the egr and inlet , service and drive it gently.. what else could be wrong and worth checking ? I always fill it up with shell diesel aswell

has any one used the sealey vacuum brake bleeders ? any good ? I need to flush my brake system and clutch but cant justify the £ 80 the garage want to charge
