  1. Hi Colin, I believe that the correct method to align the front wheels is to centre the steering wheel first and align each front wheel whilst the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position. Using this method the steering wheel will be centred with the car travelling in a straight line. Some people may be tempted to remove the steering wheel and reset to the centre position but this interferes with the indicator cancelling position so that it cancels quickly in one direction and much slower (greater rotational angle) in the other. Hope this helps
  2. Hi All, I'm confused about the headlight bulb positions on my fairly newly acquired XF - I thought the main beam would be on the outside of the vehicle using the Xenon HID bulbs with the dipped beam on the inside. Mine however is the reverse to this i.e the dipped beam is on the outside using the xenon HID's with the main beam towards the middle of the car using what appears to be ordinary two pronged halogen bulbs. Surely this can't be right? Any help would be appreciated particularly what if anything could be causing this anomaly (if it is indeed incorrect). Many thanks to all - Adrian
  3. Hello one and all - Just bought a secondhand offside headlight unit to replace my original which became excessively crazed when I left the car (2009 3.0D Luxury) under a rather expensive car cover in the sunshine for a couple of weeks - I presume that it got overheated so please be warned! Anyway the headlight that I bought turns out to be a Xenon unit rather than the old halogen as fitted. I'm having trouble sourcing a replacement halogen headlight, they seem to be rarer than hens teeth. Does anyone know whether the old halogen can be swapped with a Xenon i.e is the wiring identical? I know that physically they are interchangeable and frankly it would be cheaper to find a replacement nearside Xenon unit and thereby convert both lights at the same time. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Adrian
  4. Hi Everyone - A Newbie here - Just bought my first Jaguar, a lovely 2009 Azure Blue 3.0D XF. Only driven it twice but spent days admiring it! I'm used to doing my own maintenance (as far as is practical) and already bought the emanualonline workshop manual which covers all XF models in 3500 pages and as far as I can see doesn't cover much about the 3.0 diesel at all unless it's identical to the 2.7 diesel which is covered in great detail. I'm having trouble in identifying what an A and B service comprises of and at what interval each should be undertaken. Have just purchased a new space saver wheel together with jack but decided to buy a canvas cover and keep it in the boot rather than rip out the boot trim to fit it. Can anyone recommend a good garage in the Salisbury area for more complicated jaguar repairs? which I suspect will be most of them! Thanks for any help.
