Found the problem loose turbo hose underneath fixed with new C clamp

I just bought 2004 X- type diesel estate 48000 mi. It started running rough when accelerating then got worse with loss of power light smoke. I checked inter cooler hose & it looked OK. Any ideas what it might be???
