  1. If it is 50mm then very possibly KPH100006 and can be obtained from Jaguar / Rimmer Bros. e.t.c. for just over three pounds. If you go to the S.N.G. Barratt website you can download a pdf version of the Jaguar X100 parts manual complete with 'exploded' drawings. I use this as a constant source of information - get the part number then Google it for the price.
  2. So, eighteen months later and I have just bought a 2005 XKR.
  3. A couple of years ago I traded in my 56 reg X150 4.2 coupe for a new 13 reg BMW 335i M Sport convertible. I was always disappointed with the BMW as it was not what I was hoping it would be, and it had no 'soul'. I have just sold the BMW and I am running about in a 64 reg Corsa 1.2 Limited Edition, which I intend to keep as my daily drive. I am seriously thinking about buying an X100 06 reg XKR 4.2S (£16000ish) as I fancy returning to Jaguar - but I feel that the X150 is too fragile, i.e. prone to electrical problems, corrosion and some of the interior was a bit too flimsy. The question is will I be disappointed, i.e. do these late X100's suffer from the same electrical gremlins as the early X150's like flattening the battery for no apparent reason (my X150 spent a lot of time at the main dealers and they ended up randomly replacing parts !). As a slight aside is the X100 sat nav disc upgradeable ?
  4. 2006 / 56 XK 4.2 (non supercharged) alloy bodied coupe. Jaguar claim - Urban = 16.5 mpg / Extra Urban = 34.9 mpg / Combined = 25 mpg My commute to work (outside of both rush hours) is 5.5 miles of 30 mph and 40 mph roads - the computer tells me I get 22 mpg. My monthly trip from Stockton on Tees to Bristol is 260 miles with 250 miles of 70 mph roads (each way) - the computer tells me I get between 35 mpg and 40 mpg @ 70 mph on cruise control. This drops dramatically if the car driven enthusiastically. Fortunately I can enjoy my Jaguar whilst driving within the speed limits.
  5. Having been on the last (Jaguar Owners Club 2nd Tour) Tour on 29 March 2012 I can highly recommend it.
  6. Welcome to the Forum Lee, and I hope you are successful in finding employment soon and so satisfying you Jaguar ambition. There is a minor flaw in your quest as an XJ8 3.6 Sovereign was never produced. The 3.6 engine was a six cylinder and available in the XJ40 body style of XJ6. I believe this engine was also available as an XJ40 body style XJR but this version was not supercharged and was subsequently updated with the 4.0 non supercharged six cylinder engine. From 1994 the body style was updated to the more curvacious X300, still with the six cylinder engine as 3.2, 4.0 litre and 4.0 litre supercharged XJR. The XJ8 used a V8 engine in 3.2, 4.0 and 4.0 supercharged versions with the XJR using the latter engine and the body style being similar to the X300 (now known as X308). This body style and engine was available from 1997 to 2002 when it was replaced by the alloy bodied XJ range (X350). All of the above XJ series cars now represent excellent value and whichever you choose I am sure you will not be disappointed.

  8. I happened to passing along the M42 near Birmingham today so made a detour in oder to find the Jaguar Visitor Centre at Castle Bromwich. Having got off the M6 and onto Chester Road pass straight over the first roundabout. After a couple of hundred yards turn left into Jaguar Gate 1, then just before the main gatehouse turn right into the Visitor Centre. If you miss Gate 1 there is another roundabout a few hundred yards further up Chester Road, although as Chester Road is a duel carriageway so you will have to come back to the roundabout a couple of hundred yards past Gate 1 and then make another run. There are numerous retail car parks in the area as well as on street parking in a housing estate opposite the factory.
  9. Got your e-mail, thanks. I am just awaiting final confirmation from my 'guest'.
  10. 50 / 50 split between Bristol and Stockton on Tees (nr Middlesbrough)
  11. I have not had an e-mail yet, and less than 10 days to go !
  12. Thank you, I just didn't want you expecting somebody else on the day.
  13. Joshua Harrison should be substituted by Pete Harrison (2 Ticket). Joshua is my youngest son and it was his PayPal account that I used to pay for 2 tickets as I do not have a PayPal account myself and do not know how to create one. I promise that I have paid him back - with real money.
  14. I have just booked a place on this tour. I shall be in a 56 plate Frost Blue XK 4.2 - after all it would be rude not to bring it, and will hopefully be accompanied by one of my (adult) sons.
