  1. Thanks everyone. Autoglass will be fitting a new windscreen tomorrow. The cost? £620.10!!!
  2. Thanks for this Steve. I now know that I don't have a heated front screen. (or sat nav!) I just need to find out if the windscreen is heated where the wipers come to rest now. I don't know whether this would be automatic or via a manual switch.
  3. Forget that I asked. I'll work it out.
  4. " Oh and twin 5in oval powerflow stainless back boxes."
  5. Is that above your boy racer exhaust?
  6. Hi everyone. I have a 20cm crack in my windscreen, going from top to bottom on the drivers side. I contacted Autoglass for a quote & they sent this reply: " Is the windscreen heated where the wipers come to rest? If no, is the windscreen heated? If no, do you have a rear view mirror attached to the windscreen or a fitting for one?" How would I know if it's heated where the wipers come to rest or if the windscreen's heated? I can obviously see that the rear view mirror is attached to the windscreen, but the heated windscreen... I need to get this right, or I could be opening a big can of worms! I contacted Jaguar, when I bought the car 6 months ago & they told me that there were no added extras on my car. Was the heated wiper/ windscreen an added extra option or were they standard on all S-Types in 2003? I appreciate any help that you can give to me.
  7. Have we got any electricians in the group? I had a warning light telling me that the right hand rear brake light was not working, so I bought a new bulb & fitted it. Now it lights, but VERY dim. What do you think the problem is?
  8. Hi Peter. The company I contacted was Euro Car Parts. :'(
  9. I wonder if anyone has any knowledge or experience on this. I want to replace the brake discs front & rear on my 2003 S-Type 3.0 Sport. I contacted a company on line, giving them my registration number & VIN. They replied that there are two different makes for my braking system. One is LUCAS & the other is TEVES, & it is important to know which ones I have fitted. My question is, are they radically different? How do I find which ones I have?
  10. I finally did the headlight & took a photo of the clip, for anyone else tying to change the bulb. I think it can be done in situ once you know how to open the clip!
  11. The floor mats were looking old & worn, so I looked around for some more. I didn't have much luck, so I decided to renovate them myself. They now look like new!
  12. Does anyone know how to remove the dipped beam headlamp bulb from an S-Type 2003. There's a spring clip, but I can't see how it unclips... :(
  13. The pipe behind the weld is 50mm & the chrome finisher is 75mm. I guess I'll have to cut them off.
  14. My tailpipe finishers are welded on. Do I have to cut them off? If so, what's the inside diameter of the new tailpipe finishers?
  15. Thanks Peter. I've been looking in places like the fuse box... :D
  16. Does anyone know where I would plug my new OBD2 reader in? Andy.
  17. Good afternoon fellow Jag fanatics, Does anyone know what has caused this problem? I changed the 3 spark plugs on the drivers side bank (underneath the intake manifold) a few weeks ago & everything was fine. Yesterday, I changed the 3 plugs on the passenger side. (the easy ones) She ran just fine for around 20 miles, now I'm getting up to 3,000 rpm & she's coughing & spluttering. I can't see why & need your thoughts on this, PLEASE...
  18. Did you put your Registration Number into the search at the top left on the Euro Car Parts site?
  19. Hi. Does anyone know which fuse is for the puddle/door light? I changed a bulb & lost power to both of them, so I presume it's a fuse. Is it in the fusebox under the bonnet, boot or in the cockpit? I have the electrical guide, with a plan for all 3 boxes, but it doesn't tell me which number fuse is for the door lights.
  20. Ok, here's what I've found out so far. The lower gasket set XR843533 costs £88.84 & the upper gasket set costs £51.22. That's a total of £140! So I was way out with my guess of £70. http://www.mytonautomotive.com/product_details/-Jaguar-S-Type-X-Type-X350-X351-%28new-XJ%29-XF-Lower-Inlet-Manifold-Gasket/6389/623158/?model=&q=xr84353 http://www.mytonautomotive.com/product_details/-Jaguar-S-Type-X-Type-X350-X351-%28new-XJ%29-XF-Upper-inlet-manifold-gasket-%28set-of-6%29/6389/623159/?model=&q=xr84353
  21. When I order the right or wrong parts fr this job, I shall give you all the information & part numbers.
  22. Thanks everyone, I am taking Michael's advice & buying new gaskets. Has anyone done this before? If you have, which gasket is it? There's a Jaguar S Type Inlet Manifold Gasket XR843536 & a Jaguar S Type Upper Inlet Manifold Gasket XR85294.. Both at Berkshire Jag Components. Or on Flea Bay .JAGUAR S-TYPE 3.0 V6 INLET MANIFOLD GASKET. PART- XR85398...
  23. Hi Paul, I will need to remove the manifold to change the plugs.
