  1. Hi You have to edit them before you upload them with some thing like photoshop or paint once there uploaded you cant generally edit them cheers Joe
  2. hi if the a air bag there, it will say on it, you want some contact adhesive or some spray adhesive it depends what condition the material comes off in, if it leaves the backing behind, it might not look very good once restuck and you other option might to replaced it with a used or new part there are sites that will sell you the material, if you google it cheers Joe
  3. HI It would be easier to refurb or repaint, if your calipers are working correct you would have change hubs, brackets and discs to fit upgraded brakes, maybe also brake pipe's also as this is a modification your insurance would need to know or they would void it if anything ever happened cheers Joe
  4. Hi If there's a Airbag there, then I would disconnect the battery first, make sure you have stereo code first it should just be clipped in, start from the top and work your way down looked on jaguar JTIS and thats not clear at all cheers Joe
  5. Hi I would get it checked with a oil pressure gauge just to confirm you do have oil pressure running the engine with out oil pressure will destroy it quite quick oil pressure sender units are common to fail, but sender and oil pressure switch failing together would be rare could just be some faulty wiring, but first thing is to confirm you do have oil pressure, by removing the sender for pressure gauge or oil pressure switch and screw a pressure gauge in to double check Just had a quick google on your car and your car might not have a oil pressure switch, it just has a oil pressure sender, so as this does both pressure and oil light, this has most probably failed and i would replace this first have also found a wiring diagram if that helps cheers Joe wire diagrams jagxj1995.pdf
  6. Hi At least with the repair service you will get a guarantee the inside mechanism floats on a damping system just out of curiosity, have you tried a CD cleaning disc in it first, you can also get a bit of dust inside it and it can stick to the laser that reads the disc there usually available for less than a £5, its a cd disc with fine brushes on the disc and it will clean it, maybe worth a try for a fiver cheers Joe
  7. hI Don't think they did, it does not seem to be year related some early's ones are in perfect condition and some later ones rot terrible ad vice versa at lot of it is where the vehicle is kept, damp and condensation is the biggest cause cheers Joe
  8. hi I would swap the front wheels with the rear wheels first and see if the noise stays at the front cheers Joe
  9. Hi There usually quite robust and trouble free but they do fail with age, there's a couple of ribbon cables inside, one could of fail giving you this problem did it fail while it was playing or after you changes some of the discs cheers Joe
  10. Hi The cable goes to the two catches on the slam panel, it goes to one latch, straight through to the other latch on the x-type you can jack it up, reach up from under neath and move the catch mechanism to one side and open it, then do the other side as well, cheers Joe
  11. Hi usually I would of said its a one of the cylinder not firing right or a air leak causing the engine to run lumpy at idle, causing the shake, but if its running perfect maybe not Check the engine mounts, if one has failed, then if you grab the engine, cold, there will be movement if one has failed, could also be the rear gearbox mount as well, that would give the same effect cheers Joe
  12. Hi Its usually the back up sounder thats causes the alarm to go off There nicad batteries inside that fail, cause voltage problems and setting the alarm off You can replace the sounder but it needs programing if you handy, I've split them before and replaced the battery inside for a new one, then resealed the case with polyurathane adhesive and cured the problem Your fix above also works well, if you know someone one with jaguar IDS/SDD software they can plug in and also reprogram a new sounder or disable the sounder as well cheers Joe
  13. Hi as with most cars check its all quiet, diesels with high mileage can suffer with dual mass flywheel problems, rattling engine/gearbox, tend to go quiet when clutch is pressed if its a all wheel drive model, take it for a test drive and get it up to 70 mph make sure its all quiet, also put some load on the engine, put it in a higher gear and put your foot down, this is the most common time that the car gets a limp home mode fault or engine management light check all the electrics works, some electrical parts are expensive last check the sills, there hit and miss really, there well hidden under a plastic cover, some cars sill's are known to completely rot out, no matter what year it is cheers Joe
  14. Hi Sounds like your dual mass flywheel might be on its way Thats the symptoms for it, the flywheel will rattle and when you press the clutch it presses against the flywheel making it quiet cheers Joe
  15. Hi Do you get any messages on the dash I would say your shifting some fluids to one side so I'd check, washer bottle, engine water, brake fluid or even engine oil don't this the power steering has a level sensor on it, but check it anyway cheers Joe
  16. Hi Its good that it comes apart, most don't cheers Joe
  17. Hi Could just be the anti roll bar mounts bushes, where the anti-roll bar is mounted to the body/sub frame, there a rubber bush in like a u clamp, if that was worn out it would give you them symptoms but could also be anti-roll bar as you say, but there quite thick if it has broke, I would of thought you would notice the car would be a lot more softer side to side and would roll at lot more cheers Joe
  18. Hi Transit relays are only fitted while the cars are in jaguars car from new, to isolate the battery when not in use, they are removed before handing over to the customer here a electrical diagram x2001999.25en.pdf if you look a power distribution, you can find what it feed and start checking for faults cheers Joe
  19. Hi you just login in as a guest, it will give you owners handbook ans spec for free cheers Joe
  20. Hi Dennis Jaguar wont keep any service history, the only service history will be with the car, if the none, then there none You can get the VIN number and type it in on jaguar TOPIX and it will give you the original spec and what country it was supplied to what engine does it have cheers Joe
  21. Hi Steve You could just unplug it and remove it its in a place, not easy to get at, thats why I assume, if you wanted to remove it, the alarm would sound as soon as you open the bonnet and would take a good ten minutes to get at. the sounder is also mounted inside a steel box/enclosure also if your handy, its usually the nicad inside that fails, I fixed these in the past by splitting the alarm sounder and changing the battery inside, which is a 6v nicad, then Ive used black polyurathane adhesive to stick the two halve back together cheers Joe
  22. Hi Could be one of many things really, you won't know for sure till they plug in and bring up the fault codes usually something like a missfire will cause it, so could be any thing like a duff plug, a coil pack, or even a split hose on the induction system it might be worth investing in a generic fault code reader, that will work on most cars and will tell you a code and fault, these are generally under £30 now you usually find, if you turn the ignition off and on it will clear the limp mode and drive normal and if you drive normal the fault wont come back, most faults occur when you have your foot hard down or under load, like going up steep banks, thats the favorite time for incorrect fueling, which causes misfires, which will cause the engine to go into limp mode, this protects the engine, as running lean, misfiring or pinking can damage the engine cheers Joe
  23. Hi Are you sure the anti roll bar has broken, or 1 of the two drop links has broken, which connect the anti roll bar to the suspension arm cheers Joe
  24. Hi later sub frame won't fit, it has to be the earlier one best option would to be phone or email some breaker if any body has a good, this is a common problem on the earlier rear sub frames and are getting hard to get now in good condition check ebay out as well, as you get people breaking s-types on there as well, there's also Dennis on here the jag den, try him cheers Joe
  25. hi mine is in engine bay, left front area, under the fusebox cheers Joe
