  1. Currently own an S type XS, sadly I think it will have to go, hence , looking at replacing it with an early XE, but can't find full specs for early years cars. Any suggested links?
  2. Mine does the same. ctrl Alt Del once the car has warmed up and all is well. There is a sensor in the exhaust I believe that gets stuck when cold. Once everything has warmed up, all OK.
  3. Isn't the internet wonderful. As above "had exactly the same symptoms as yourself and fuse 44 had blown due to an inadvertent brush of the frame against the car. ". Found fuse digram on the web, changed fuse. Jobs a good un. Thanks chaps.
  4. Afternoon Chaps. Confused of Reading here. I have been trying to discover the type of bulbs required for the fog lights attached to the XS model. Some say it is a bayonet fit and some say the bulb comes with two wire tails. Do any of you wizards know the true answer?
  5. Thanks everyone for your replies. I have the plug in adaptors, but wanted something more permanent. I had hoped that someone produced a unit that replaced the whole ashtray area. I have also looked at fitting the USB in the glove box, but I have mine full of CDs, yes I know, I could use the mp3s from my phone instead.... Also I want to assist the Jag satnav by using WAZE apps etc from my phone, and so wanted a USB closer to the dash.
  6. afternoon chaps. has anyone replaced the centre ashtray console with a unit that holds USB points? or similar
  7. I've used V-Power ever since buying the jag 3 years ago, gives better mpg and no major DPF problems. As said above, the cat does need to be let out of the bag occasionially
  8. Afternoon Chaps. The fuel gauge on my S type does not read correctly. Yes I know I can use the range readout – which I prefer to do – but it upsets me that the fuel gauge does not work. The gauge never seems to zeroise, so every time I turn-on the ignition the gauge turns more and more clockwise. My local garage say the problem is with the sender on the left tank (the S type having two fuel tanks) having a short-circuit. The only way to replace this sender is to replace the entire fuel pump (£500+). We have tried disconnecting the sender, but this made no difference to the gauge, but did mean that the range readout did not work L Has anyone got any ideas?
  9. Yes, that's it. Door Seal. "...it can be pulled off and repleced" sounds too easy.
  10. Thanks for that. Really like the look of the DRL on the vid. I'm sure the electrics are not difficult, if you know what your doing........
  11. the rubber strip around the driver door has spilt and the crack is getting longer. Is there any way to either replace the rubber, or fitt some form of kick plate to stop it happening.
  12. Evening Chaps - Has anyone fitted Daytime Running Lights to their 'S' type?
  13. I have the same problem/smell. Not every run. Seems to be the strongest on the left side near the engine.
  14. spot-on dattrike as perfect match
  15. My 'S' XS came with 18 inch as standard. BTW SIMJAG - do you know the name for the style of your wheels?
  16. Afternoon Chaps. I'm choosing a set of new wheels for my 2007 XS S type with 245/40 R18 tyres. Is there anything I should look out for - size etc. or anything I should avoid?
  17. Afternoon Chaps. I would like to start by saying what a useful forum I have found the JOC site to be. Already you have helped me with the 'hand-brake' fault, upgrading the satnav, and choosing a multi CD player. My question is. I am buying some winter tyres. - no good trying to talk me out of it. My S type is the XS with 245/40 R80 tyres. I'm considering getting a new set of wheels to go with the tyres. Want to make sure that I am buying a set of wheels that are up to the job. Any suggestions
