  1. Cheers for the reply. I'll take a look tomorrow.
  2. Hi guys. On my way back from work and got a rattle from the front. Had a look when I got home and without taking the wheel off I can feel the heat shield on the back of the caliper is loose. I guest it might be rotted off but just wondering if anyone knew what the most likely cause could be before I have another look tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
  3. I had a similar problem a few years ago. Water was leaking from the front seal of the water pump and dripping onto the drive belts only when running . Car wasn't a s type but might be worth a look.
  4. Okay so it's getting a bit misty where I live but on my way home one in four cars has there fog lights on Visibility was about half a mile. I don't get it. Nearly all the drivers didn't know how to use the front fogs correctly as well. Bugs me and whist I'm on the subject why drive with the front fogs on when there is no fog at all? Rant over.
  5. Double post for me as well. Please remove.
  6. Mine have an adaptor as well. Pain in the backside at timed pressure pumps. Costs 4x more than normal by the time you've screwed the adaptor in your money has run out Anyhow guess a decent tyre fitting place could help but would imagine the tyre would need to be removed. If it does ask them to mark the tyre and rim with chalk so the tyre can be put back in the same place it came off so you don't have to pay to have it re balanced.
  7. Thanks for the kind comments guys. Much appreciated I took my driving licence for granted and to have it revoked even for a shot time was a life changer. That said I really appreciate being back on the road now and to get back in the jag was the cream on the cake for me. Grins ... Oh yeah
  8. Well its all been fixed and I'm back on the road. Was a wheel sensor after all. It's great driving it again after all this time. No more buses for me.
  9. Well without rambling on to too long I've not been able to use my car for the last 6 months due to medical reasons but today all is well and took for said mot. I knew it would fail (abs warning light on) but how badly I wasn't sure. Anyhow seems like its just a sensor fault. Also needed two tyres which I also was aware of and a drop link on the rear and that's it. I'm so chuffed to be getting back behind the wheel again after so long. The drive to the station and back I was grinning ear to ear Drop it off next Tuesday and pick it up Wednesday morning all being well Can't wait
  10. Took mine to auto glass for a quote. They said they would do it on the insurance. I said it's not broken and they replied it soon will be.
  11. 50 amp battery drain does sound like a short somewhere (a big one). Can I ask how you are measuring that? If possible try and pull off the connection to the alternator to rule that out perhaps?
  12. Think you done the right thing by stopping before you potentially made it a bigger problem. Still not going your way though. Good luck with it and hope it's not too bad.
  13. Wow. At least it's a easy fix it it turns out to be all down to that. Just out of interest where in Bolton is the garage you use? Thanks
  14. Mine is easy. Was a funeral directors car when new, hence black. Not sure if that was an option or not or whether the car is standard apart from that. I will dig out the vin number and try that site. Thanks.
  15. Cracking job that. Good on you for not scrapping it which would have been easy to do.
  16. Hi, I use giffgaff for my kids phones. Monthly contract starts from £5 per month and you are not tied into any minimum contract lengh. You can cancel at at any time. Go to www.giffgaff.com to order a sim card online. Once you have the card you also can activate it online. Service runs on 02 network. Can't help with the handset but if you already have all the bits should be plug in and away you go? If not someone else on here will come along and help. Good luck.
  17. Unplug the light cluster and try again with a fuse. Least you will know where the fault is. Also if you have a tow bar fitted disconnect the wiring to it and try that. Hope that helps.
  18. Looking on the plus side then if it's that bad should be easy to see where it's coming from I suppose. Good luck and let us know how you get on with it.
  19. If it were me I would get it closer to home. RAC should do it, I've had them do it for me but depends on your circumstances. Hope it's not too expensive or its covered under warranty.
  20. I one had a water pump front seal fail (bmw) causing water to drip onto the bottom pulley. That sprayed water all over the front of the car and took a while to figure where it was coming from.
  21. Oh sorry Steve. On mine you press the menu button and it displays 'man'. Then pressing seek under menu button to manually set frequency. On mine the seek buttons are the same ones used to select next / previous track on CD player. Hope that helps.
  22. Think you have a newer radio than mine but you could try tuning the station you want then press and hold the required memory button down for a few seconds (mine beeps to confirm iirc). The principle may be the same on yours.
