  1. Unfortunately none of the above able to assist ..cant seem to find the grommet anywhere .. or a second hand servo .. part number is 6R83-2B195-BC (Servo) ... Anyone have any idea what may fit (or have one lying around) as getting desperate now ...
  2. Hi All ... I was driving the other day (slowly) .. pressed the brake pedal and ..... nothing .. solid brake pedal. No servo assist. Got it home .. called the AA and a very nice man said the vacuum pipe seemed to have popped off hence lack of vacuum. So he put it back on ... unfortunately ive lost brakes again today so decided to have a look .. pulled the vacuum pipe out and discovered the seal/grommet has split and is therefore not holding pressure. Does anyone know where I can get this rubber seal .... (sits at the front of the vacuum pump under master cylinder) .. its about 37 mm across with a centre hole of about 17 mm ... Cant seem to find it anywhere apart from attached to a very expensive pump / servo unit Thanks in advance
  3. I was 44 ... XJ Sport 4.0 ... in green ... kept her for 9 years .... then swopped her for a "cheaper to run 1.8 Merc Kompressor". Finally got rid of that (never again) and now have an S Type 2.7 d . which ironically is even cheaper to run than the Merc
  4. new water pump now fitted .. but seems the garage cant get any hot air to blow out of the heater. They have checked for an air lock but all seems ok ... car runs up to temperature . no sign of coolant loss .. just no hot air ..... Anyone else experienced this at all ?
  5. So it seem I was wrong .. its not a hose ... As I pulled off the drive yesterday the contents of the coolant system threw itself on to the road .... The nice AA man informed me that the water pump had let go ... Rang local dealer for quote. Seems they can book it in for mid July !!! ..... Local garage doing it week after next ......
  6. UPDATE .... Having spent the day poking around I initially found nothing ... Until I had it running up to temperature ... left it running, popped off the engine cover and realised the foam sound deadening insert was soaked. Looked down where the belts are spinning and I can see a small fountain .. Just cant tell exactly where from .but suspect a hose .. the inertia from the belts is flicking the coolant upwards. Now if anyone knows what is between the fans and belt(s) .. other than hoses id much appreciate knowing .. Thanks again
  7. Hi ..... It seems to be a common thing ? I to am getting a coolant low waning .. 2007 2.7d .... I got caught in torrential rain a few weeks ago ... And noticed a warning light and mesage sating . along the lines of "reduced power " ... could only just manage 70 mph .. very little power... Got to where I was going .. switched off ....waited ... switched on and message gone and full power back. About a week later "Engine coolant low" ... Checked and topped up. . Its happened twice since but now im doing 25 miles max before I get the warning. No visible signs of coolant ....Oil cap clear and oily .... No water marks anywhere .. heating is good tho air con doesn't go cold (This may just need recharge) ... any ideas would be appreciated Thanks Steve
  8. dont suppose you have a link by any chance ?
  9. Hi All Its possibly been asked before but .. I recently bought an S Type ... The Sat Nav didn't appear to work so I took it back and it seems that while the car was on the forecourt someone decided they would like the Sat Nav DVD disc more than any new owner and nicked it. My question is .. Will any Jaguar DVD disc work in the Sat Nav system. Mines a 2007 car but I have seen more up to date discs that seem to be for newer models and was wondering if I could purchase say a disc for an XF for example and wouls it work ok. The DVD player is in the boot . the screen is in the dash the only missing item is the disc. Thanks in anticipation
  10. Hello All Just bought an S Type Jag. And a diesel to boot. So thought I would sign up and have a browse. I used to have a 4.0 XJ Sport which I foolishly part exchanged for a newer Mercedes Benz C180 Kompressor. Possibly one of the larger mistakes of my life... Anyway .. I fortunately convinced the wife that another Jag was the way to go. She didn't agree at first ... until she sat inside ... then she was sold ... and here we are as they say ... Back in the fold. And I must say .. the diesel engine is !Removed! good .....
