  1. hi there, can anyone shed any light on my problem, i have just changed the coolant rad on my 1999 3ltr auto S Type, everything was fine before i did, apart from the rad was split in two at the bottom, i had to remove the A/C rad to be able to remove the coolant rad, installed a brand new rad, put the A/C rad back in, put the cooling fan back in, filled the system with water (only water just in case there was any leaks) started the car, no probs or issues, took it for a drive, but when i got back i noticed that the cooling fan was on, didn't really think anything was wrong, i let the car cool, then went out to check the water level, which was fine, but when i went to start it the battery was dead, i put the jump pack on the car, & the cooling fan started, i managed to get the car going, but the fan wont turn off unless i disconnect it, why is this??? it didn't have this fan problem before, has anyone else had these sort of issues, or know how to fix it, i really hope so.
  2. checked the battery, it was a little low, so i charged it over night, touched the two cables together to totally drain the car, reconnected but still no change, ive tried my code reader on different cars & it works, so just cant understand why it wont connect to the jag, have read that it could be a faulty ECU, but would have thought that if the ECU was faulty, it wouldn't run the car as well as it is at the moment. also, i have found that if i start the car, but dont engage drive for about 30-45 seconds the doors lock & stay locked.
  3. hi all, i have a 3ltr auto S Type 1999, my diagnostic plug is not working, i need to reset my ABS light after changing the sensors, but the plug wont work, my reader works on other cars, but not mine, any clues to whats wrong, ive tried to charge the battery then try but still no difference, MOT is in a few weeks so need to resolve the problem as it also says traction control fault. should the ABS reset its self if the problem, is resolved, how can i find a sensor which has failed without diagnostics??
  4. i will have a look at the battery, with a volt metre tomorrow.
  5. Hi I have a 1999 3Ltr S Type can someone please shed some light on my problem, my ABS/traction control lights are on, I have changed the sensors but cant turn out the lights, some people say hold the trip button or reset button on the dash then turn the ignition to the on position & that should work...........that didn't work. Some one else told me to disconnect the battery, touch the two terminals together to ensure all power is drained, then reconnect & all will be resolved.........that didn't work. I have tried to connect it to a diagnostics machine at my local garage to get them to reset it, but the diagnostic reader couldn't connect to the car, then after a few attempts said there was insouciant voltage so cant connect. My MOT is coming up next month, so need to get the lights turned off. Also one other problem I have is when I engage drive all my doors lock, but then unlock straight away, does any know how to fix this issue.
