  1. Hi Steve, Thank you for the reply, the first so far, I just can't believe how difficult it is these days to get a simple question answered! The S type I'm considering, has ingested water into its air intake, so could well be just a bent con rod. A very easy job for me, but would not entertain it if the engine has to be removed from the vehicle. Kind regards, Trevor.
  2. Despite contacting Jaguar uk and my nearest dealer I still do not have the answer to this simple question, surely someone out there knows? On the 2007 S Type Jaguar v6 diesel is it necessary to remove the engine to replace a damaged con rod?
  3. Having lost a childhood friend recently who loved his Jaguars, I now need some information, and in this mad world we now live in I have been unable to have this simple question answered! I have contacted Jaguar UK, they gave me a contact that only carriers out body repairs, my question was regarding the engine, the other a main dealer informed me that the engine needed stripping to remove the damaged con rod, as if I did not know that. My question is regarding an S type 2007 2.7 V6 Diesel, it's unfortunately ingested water into its air intake, and I suspect has bent a connecting rod. I'am considering purchasing this vehicle, but need to know this simple question answered, can the connecting rod be removed on this model with the engine still in situe? Hopefully one of your members can't answer my question before I go completely insane?
