  1. The alarm on my 2008 XJ6 diesel has started to operate for no apparent reason. The first time was about a year ago. The frequency of the operations was firstly every few months, then every few weeks and, now, every few days. It is the vehicle main horn that operates - on, off, on, off - each 'on' bleep lasting for about a second. It can be silenced by pressing the unlock button on the key fob, or, if I do not do this in 30 seconds, it will stop sounding itself after 30 seconds. Obviously my neighbours are now starting to complain! Any help please.
  2. Hello Peter, Thank you for your response. As my car is only eight years old and has only done 40,000 miles, it will be two years yet before the cam belt needs changing. Wil.
  3. I have a 2008 XJ Series with the Jaguar diesel engine. I do not know much about cambelts other than, a few years ago, I had one break on a petrol car (not a Jaguar) that I owned at the time and it was very expensive! Does my Jaguar diesel engine have a cambelt and, if so, when does it require changing - at what mileage or at what age? My car is now eight years old but has covered only about 40,000 miles. I thank any respondents in anticipation.
