  1. Hi, i bought a new Jaguar XF 2litre (163) hoping that, with care and regular maintenance, it would last me the rest of my motoring days (I’m nearing 7p). Beautiful motor and very smooth. It’s the aluminium version so the body should last. At my first 21k service I was told that the brake discs were corroded and the pads needed replacing. I have a lot of driving experience (and maintenance bills) and i accept that the pads will need replacing but I know that discs should last a lot longer than that, especially the way I drive (sedately). I’m now beginning to wonder whether Jaguar parts are inferior. I don’t want to jeopardise my warranty so just before it expires I am thinking about replacing the discs with good quality non Jaguar parts. Is this feasible or am I being too fussy? Regardless, if I have to use Jaguar parts I don’t think I’ll be paying main dealership service prices.
