New altarnator fitted all good now

Hi everyone I've got a x type 2007 diesel and the battery light as just came on and a really bad burning smell coming in the car could this be the alternator burnt out ? Kind regards Eddie.

Hi everyone I've just bought a 2007 x type and when I try to use the sat nav it's saying the disc is not a dvd disc as anyone got any ideas to what is happening please. Kind regards Eddie.
