    Overdrive in a MK V?

    I have a ‘49 MK V with a 2.5L engine that I plan to do some long highway runs in. I’m wondering if it could benefit from having an overdrive added. Has anyone here successfully done this? I’d be interested to hear of any experiences by the members here. Thanks, Wayne

    MK V rod bearings

    I have a 1949 MK V in need of big end rod bearings. The originals are Glacier bearings number GS7583M. 2” bore and 1.896 to 1.895 ID. Any body know where to look? I’ve tried most of the usual places and even talked to Mehle-Clevit with no success. Any help would be greatly welcomed!
