    Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone

    CliffordFulham posted a topic in Jaguar X-Type Club
    I have an 05 registered X type 3.0 ltr estate. Since new I have successfully used a top of the range Nokia with the in car blue tooth system. I need to change my phone and am considering an iPhone 4s or a Samsung Galaxy. I have tried to connect a friend's iphone following the instruction manual but it simply won't connect. I heard that the problem is the Blue Tooth platform which has been upgraded on newer phones. Am I wasting my time trying to connect a smartphone?
