  1. Thanks, John! Actually, the battery is disconnected, so that method does not work either. :(. I was able to remove the side pillars in the rear seat, and the bottom bolts from the rear seat, and using an extension tool then disengage one of the seats to fold forward. This allowed be to reach the manual boot hood release (escape) latch located at the back of the compartment on the boot lid itself.
  2. Thanks, Julie! I had done that, unfortunately, my key was never cut. I was able to remove the side pillars in the rear seat, and the bottom bolts from the rear seat, and using an extension tool then disengage one of the seats to fold forward. This allowed be to reach the manual boot hood release (escape) latch located at the back of the compartment on the boot lid itself.
  3. I was replacing the alternator on my 2010 XF, and disconnected the battery to do so, shutting the boot. When I went to open the boot, I discovered that the manual key in the only keyfob I received had never been cut and was still a blank, so I am unable to open the boot. My rear seats are 60/40 split, and will fold down, but with the release latches in the boot is there a way to fold down the seats from the passenger compartment and pop the trunk manually? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
