I’ve just got a 1998 XK8, on the way home all the instruments stoped working, SPEED, RPM, FUEL, OIL, WATER, AMPS. Non of the back lights on any instruments work. The car starts and drives. So I think there must be a connector that is either come adrift or corroded. Can any one point me in the right direction to where this might be located or any other suggestions? Thanks

I have a 1998 XKR convertible. Yesterday when pulling away the ABS light came on followed by Traction Control and Stability control. I then noticed the speedometer had also failed. Stopped and turned off, waited 5 mins and started again, same problems. Then I stopped and disconnected the battery for 5 mins. Reconnect, just the ABS light came on. Had to reverse out of the place I parked and drove off, the ABS light went out and the speedo was working. This morning the same happened again, ABS Traction and stability came on and speedo not working , did the same as above and all working now. So is the speedo fail causing the ABS to come on or is the ABS causing the speedo to fail? Thanks Bill XKR

Thanks I think mine must not be working correctly as it really goes with a rush of air and some times fuel when I open the filler cap.

After driving if I go to open the fuel cap air rushes out sometimes with a spray of fuel. I presume there is some sort of venting system that has got blocked? Any advice of where to find it and what to do. I’ve replace the fuel filler cap with a temporary one from Halfords that doesn’t fit with a tight seal but obviously need to have the proper one back for a MOT. Thanks for any help

My XKE has failed the MOT due to rust issues, I’m having difficulty finding a garage that will give me a quote to repair in the Hertfordshire area. anyone have any suggestions where to take it to. thanks
