Nothing on the gear surround. However, i depressed the brake pedal while turning the key. The engine started and the shift lever was released. Finally back on the road with no problems after 4 months!

Is there a way to override the lock when the transmission is in Park. I need to have the car (1990 XJ6) towed for service. It will not fire and the transmission selector is in Park. it won't move unless the car is started. Help much appreciated!

My battery is good, 12.7volts. The lights will come on but the starter does absolutely nothing. No crank, just silence. Fired fine a week ago... I've cleaned battery terminals. Could this be the starter relay!
