Thanks for replying! Once I've been driving for about 5 minutes, it becomes quieter but its still there. Getting worried now, the rest of the week is going to include a lot of driving and I can't really afford to be car less :(

Hi guys. I'm having a problem with my 2005 AWD X-type. I thought I would be laughing when it got icy (AWD!) but I've noticed whenever its freezing or below, a whining noise is coming from what I thinks the prop. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem? Is it serious? The cars not high mileage, although its currently getting lots of use. Thanks in advance for any advice!
