Latest: I also have expired warranty, but I also have MOT warranty still valid. So, I am having it MOT'd (hopefully it will fail) and then repair will be done under Jaguar MOT Warranty. The diagnosis cost £75 so I might just get one of those readers TopBoy.

Hi My low millage (2003) x-type recently had a 'engine malfunction light' come on. This was after digging it out of snow from a Heathrow Car park where it sat for 3 weeks. I (hoped) thought it might re-set after a few runs (I heard they can). But it stayed on. I took it to Jag for Diagnosis (expensive) and was told it was the: UPSTREAM O2 Sensor Bank 1 (its a petrol V6). They wanted (Stratstone) £450 to replace it - seems rather expensive for a filter....Any comments from the Club Experts? Also any good Independent Garages in Hertfordshire?
