I've just had full 80,000 mile service with cam belt replacement and gearbox service by a Jag specialists for £1800 which I thought was well worth it as I've never paid a garage in 45 years of motoring to service or repair my car. Some one's definitely had your pants down, don't understand why they double flushed was this to double the price.

Hi all a quick question regarding the tyre pressure monitor system on my F Pace it has started to randomly lose contact with the rear driver wheel which I'm putting down to it's battery probably been nearly ten years old. As I'm about to have all 4 tyres replaced soon was wondering if it's a case of replacing the battery in them or should I just buy a full set of sensors and start a fresh. The tyres are going to sting me any way so don't want to have to pop them off later down the line when others start dying. Thanks in advance Pete.

Hi Jim The cylinder numbering I find very confusing but the diagram I have shows bank-1 (driver side) front cly to be number-1 then working backwards 3-5-7 . then bank-2 (passenger) starts with number-2 at the front and 4-6-8 as you work back. With you mentioning mixing the clys up I have pulled off the plastic cover and looked down towards the coil packs and the second one back from the front bank-2 appears to have a shiny new black coil pack where as the rest are all dusty grey but according to the diagram I'm looking at should be number 4 not number 2 this leads me to question which cly has the new injector that was suppose to be cly 6. Looks like it's time to give up on the dealer sorting it and crack on with replacing the lot at my own expense not what I purchased it for as my original plan was a X100 but decide against another long term project car in favour of a car to drive. Now that seems to have come back to slap me a good un around the chops. Pete.

I'm starting to loose faith with my 2010 XK which I brought 6 months ago as I seem to be plagued by a recurring issue with a misfire and reduced performance message. The dealer I purchased it from gave a 3 month warranty and used a local garage to do all their warranty work I thought it was a safe bet. When the problem first happened they had the car checked it out deleted the faults and returned it saying "It seem ok" I will add that even thou it was misfiring and running rough when I booked it in by time I took it to the garage it was running perfect again. So weeks went by with no problem but I hardly drove it in that time then we set of on 300 mile round trip to Norfolk got there no problem set off home and the misfire is back, pulled up plugged in the Topdom cleared the faults and away we go only for it to return 20 mins later. Stopped at a service station contemplating the AA to start it up and drive 120 miles home with no problem. Booked it back in at the garage to be told there's nothing wrong so left it with them for a few days to run about in till the fault reappeared which it didn't all they manage to do was send it back looking like the back of a farmers landrover so it won't be going back to that place again. After a few weeks it reappeared the dealer now long past my warranty period suggested a local Jag specialist to do a diagnostic check which they said showed, coil pack 2 faulty and injector 6 faulty and a quote for £1100 to sort. the dealer suggest I return the car so their in house mechanic can do the work and threw in a new set of plugs and it wouldn't cost me. Great we finally sorted but no a week later and it's miss firing again and I had only drove a few miles. I've contacted the mechanic who said he will have a talk with his boss as he wants the car right but I think the boss is losing interest as I've had the car 6 month and it's looking like an expensive job. Has anyone had similar misfire problems or any idea as I now own a very pretty ornament on the front which I just don't trust to drive anymore. Pete.

Due to breaking the tiny pin that holds the blade into the fob and the fob keep falling off I purchased a replacement case to transfer the guts of the fob into but after having issues getting the new case to fit together with the guts inside it now doesn't work. None of the 5 buttons do anything but once inside the car will not recognize the smart key until it is inserted into the cubby box slot then the car will start. The other key will unlock the car but also will not start it unless plugged in but that one never has so is it possible to teach the dumb key how to be a smart key again or am I screwed into paying out for a stealer to do it. Would really appreciate some feedback or magic cure. Pete.

N6 JMX Thanks for that just needed to be sure it wouldn't screw the transmission up after 5 miles. I've never like the look of these skinny little tyres and the thought of driving on one still scares me a bit so it would only be home or the nearest tyre shop to be fleeced . Thanks Pete.

Hi I'm new to F Pace ownership and have recently purchased a 2017 3 litre to replace my R/R sport TDV8. And I'm loving the Jag after nearly 30 years of R/Rovers. But my concern is the lack of spare wheel there are loads of choices but I have 22" rims fitted and none of the 18" or 19" space saver wheels have the same rolling circumference. When imputing the tyre dimensions into a comparison calculator they are massive difference in overall circumference. The question is how does this affect the all wheel drive system on the F Pace as with the R/rover all 4 corners must be the same size or it buggers up the diffs some how. So what size wheel and tyre is safe to use with 22" rims on the other 3 corners. I would appreciate any info and feedback as a search of the form has thrown up no info. Pete.

Before I brought my 5 Lt XK I looked at many and watch so many hours of U tube it all started to go blurry but the one thing most reviewers commented on was how a std system was so quiet with out pulling fuse 19 or swapping the rear pipe . But during my test drive it didn't sound to muffled but the weird thing was I didn't notice the quad pipes at the rear till I'd looked at a few more, so on a return viewing a quick look under the rear revealed a lack of oil drum size silencer which some might see as a bad thing I just saw a £800 saving on replacing it anyway. As I enter my mid to late 50s my feeble attempt to grow up and be more age appropriate seems to be a dismal failure. Pete.

Hi to all my fellow Jag owners. My journey to Jag ownership has not gone as I planned and started last year when I decided to act my age and sell my 350z because it wasn't getting used enough to warrant it and wanted to go old school with something really basic like an Austin 8 or similar. Then the plan was to end nearly 30 years of Range rover ownership by swapping my L320 sport for a F pace. This is where it all went off on a tangent. While watching Bangers n cash the wife took fancy to an E type which was out of budget but got me thinking you see where this is heading. XK8's are now the focus but finding a rust free example for the budget wasn't happening so up the budget till we hitting X150 territory and after weeks of searching and hundreds of miles I became the owner of a 2009 5 litre XK. To say I'm happy is an understatement what an awesome car just can't wait for the weather to improve so I can get some serious miles in it but what about the plan of an F pace well the rangee has a buyer lined up and the F pace should be here next week but I can't help the feeling I might have bit to much off but only time will tell.
