i have a s type jaguar 2004.over the past few weeks i have had the low coolant level red light on the dash lighting up,so i pull over release the pressure and top up,but even when the water tank has been topped up the red light still comes on again after a while,in the end i got fed up with stopping and topping up,and carried on the water temp stayed as normal but the low coolant level was still on,then so one told me that it could by a doggy sensor on the water tank, and the reason that i was having to keep topping up the tank was because when iam taking of the water cap iam letyting out the water as it is under presure,so all iam looking for is where the sensor is and can i replace it without haveing to replace the whole expanstion tank, many thanks for any help on the matter.
  8. very sad day,had a tow bar fitted yesterday, and had to take my quads tail pipes of,as the towbar brackets where hitting the exhaust tips on both sides,so it looks like a trip to the fab shop to get them modifided to fit again,
  9. i have had my jag 2.5 exhaust rear boxes done, total cost was £400.swapped the single rear tips for a set of quads, and had both rear boxes replaced aswell.all in stainless, with a life time warranrty,it know sounds very deep at low revs, but get it some welly, and the note changeres to a low rumble,a head turner to say the least lol
  10. many thanks philgavin, but that is for a vw and not a s type jag.or are the codes all the same ?
  11. i have a s type jaguar 2.5 petrol on a 2004 plate,i had the engine management light come on,when tested the code was dtc p1582,flight recorder data clarifcation.the light is now out and all is well, but just woundered what this is ??,have been told it could be something to do with the throttle/inetia switch failure, but even when the light was on the car drove ok,and did not go in to limp mode ??.many thanks.neil.
  12. what and where are the sensor or sensors you are talking about peter ,as this will be the next thing to cross of my list.lol.many thanks to all that have helped with this problem.
  13. no had the heating system checked, and no air lock, the car drives fine, until i really start to give it some welly.
  14. coolant has not been replaced,or even topped up.temp gauge reads normal, even when the low coolant warning light comes on when driven hard,it just seems that the engine block sucks all of the water from the coolant tank, where it is putting it is a mystery to me.and the engine oil level is also fine.
