    Getting a bit more power back

    TomBoy posted a topic in Jaguar X-Type Club
    I have a 53 plate x type diesel (2l) and have noticed quite a bit of black smoke when I give it the beans, which isn't very often. I found on here that the egr valve and inlet manifold could be clogging up, so I took it apart and cleaned it out, it was almost half the diameter it should have been! Long story short black smoke seems to be gone, but it still just seems to be slightly sluggish when I put my foot down, any thoughts? Thanks.
