whereabouts is it situated in the boot, is your sat nav dvd box in the boot also?

hi can anyone help, just purchased my first ever jag, 2007 x type 2.0 litre sovereign, although the sat nav works there is no voice commands for directions, am i doing something wrong?, the maps etc are there, just no sound. <_<
