Hi i have a 2003 jaguar x type 2.1 v6 petrol it starts first time nearly every time but occasionally it takes longer to start what could be . I have put new coil packs and spark plugs and also oil and filter changed, It dosent affect the cars performance at all just wondered what it could be can anyone help thanks.

i just had an o2 sensor go so i dont know if that would make the symptoms

Hi i had a code 1646 come up on my 2003 2.1 v6 jaguar x type and i understand that its an o2 sensor on bank 1 could anyone please give me some information of where i can find the sensor and the connector/plug to the sensor because i understand there are four on the car ,Thanks .

Hi i wonder if any one can help i changed spark plugs on my jaguar x type 2.1 v6 2003 and after 2-3000 miles it will jolt when pulling off slowing down in a gear and accelarating cant work it out i have changed spark plugs 3 times and when they are first changed the car runs really good but after the above mileage is covered the car starts to play up . The spark plugs are the correct ones for the car and there is no vacuum leak had it checked by garage even he is puzzled has anyone had this problem before it sometimes takes a couple of turns on the key to start but not very often .

hi i have a problem with my car can anyone help . my x type 2.1 v6 2003 has started making a popping sound coming from air intake it makes the sound on idle and the revs drop then pick back up if its left idling it will keep doing it but when i rev it goes away what can this be i know its not plugs coz i just changed then 2000 miles ago.

hi while sitting at a junction for about 2 minutes i noticed my oil light flickering when i pulled away it sounded like the engine rattled like lack of oil i checked oil its at correct level it sounded to me like oil starvation what could be the problem can anyone help me plz .

I just got mine from Halfords ngk didnt need to regap they are all ready set . As for the gap.distance you will probably find that on here let me know if that cures it .

Hi yes I found the problem it was worn out spark plugs I changed them it runs like a dream now so id suggest you try the spark plugs first mine got so bad when I gave it some hard acceleration the engine management light would flash and it would lose power for about 20seconds then come back to life .dont be put off by the inlet manifold its easy to remove and put back I looked on youtube for a guide. hope you have some luck finding your problem.

Apart from that what else would cause the car to jolt its like a sort of misfire or starvation of fuel if you go up a hill and you are in say fourth gear the car will jump about until I change to third then will be OK its annoying .

What is a throttle potentiometer what does this do and is it easy to fix and how much
