So, I have been quoted £1800 + vat + a possible mechatronic unit at £1000 and told it was the gearbox sump that cracked as it is made from plastic and that they crack easily. Could I not just replace the sump myself, and refill the box?

How do you top up / check the ATF in these. Many thanks

Firstly thank you for help in advance, I have experienced problems pulling away during the last month in the cold weather when the engine is cold, it wouldn't engage for a few seconds and I put it down to the transmission fluid not being vicous in the torque convertor, however this morning it wouldn't pull away at all and comes up with 'gearbox fault'. What is this likely to be? Many thanks
