100,000 mls - 3.0 d 275 bhp. Uneven tyre wear from wheel scrubbing. Replaced front wishbones which helped but still not right and will need to do track end rods too by the looks of it. Also had failure of pulley on serpentine belt.

I had this problem with the boot. It was a broken wire, caused by bending every time boot lid was lifted. Not sure how accessible the wiring is to the door, but there should be some ribbed rubber trunking some where from the body of the car into the door - see if you can pull that back and check if any copper wires have snapped.

Anybody know if they did Rich Oak matt trim in pre-facelift XFs? I suspect not, unless perhaps in some XFRs? I got a complete trim set including door card inserts off ebay in what I understand from the seller is Rich Oak (it's dark matt brown, with a strong horizontal grain). I fitted the centre console (including the triangular bit - grrr), went to do the dash and discovered that it doesn't fit, as it is post facelift, and mine's an 09! The glove box release button is in a different place and the hazard light console is a different shape. Real shame, as it looked really smart, and a big improvement IMO over the glossy burr walnut. So do I keep the set and look for a Rich Oak dashboard panel that fits, or flog the whole set and start looking from scratch again? :-( Michael

Thanks for the tip off. Sure enough when I took a close look there is a small blister starting next to the chrome trim. Aggravating as the car is now out of warranty as it's an '09....

After seeing the dearth of spares on ebay, I think I might go for the wrap option. Piano Black would look more contemporary.

Hi Richard, I don't suppose you would be interested swapping your trim for the dark burr walnut? If not, anyone else?
