  1. while the fluid was second hand it would seem the fault is the power steering pump (it is very noisey). So I have a couple of questions please. 1) Can someone help me with a step by step guide for the best way to replace this item (or a link to a 'how to'). 2) Is the pump the same on the 2.1 2.5 and 3l? Thankyou
  2. Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I was hopeful it may be something such as this, and the fluid does look very second hand, so I guess regardless it would make sense to get it changed. Could this also be the cause of the 'whistle' (sorry, be description I can think of) on acceleration? With the bonnet it up it does sound like a pump struggling a touch so I guess it could be power steering and therefore boiling back down to a possible fluid change?
  3. Hi guys and gals, great place you have here. So, I have just bought a 2004 (53 plate) 2.1 v6 x type. Flawless on the test drive, but day three of ownership and I have found a noise or two that concern me. First and foremost, on acceleration there is what I can only describe as a whistle or whine? I am also getting a little bit of a noise when steering. I checked Power steering fluid and all seems good on that front. Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
