Hi Guys. Thank you for your replies, I am definitely leaning towards a Jag, (At the moment I tow with a Vauxhall Omega, lovely towing motor) I have the chance of getting an S type, but he says that it has a Ford 2.5 Diesel engine in it, I am a bit concerned, can you marry up a Ford 2.5 Diesel with a Manual Jag gearbox, and will the engine torque to gearbox be ok. in my mind it must be a bit of an hybrid, but I am ignorant to Jaguars, so comments on this point would be much much appreciated.. One of my mates has just bought an X Type on a 2002 plate for £1800 and its a lovely car, do they usually go that cheap or is that about the going price. Regards to All John

Hi Steve. Thank you for your reply, I was getting all sorts of replies from other sources so I thought, ask the people who know, and joined the Jaguar owners club. So as refinements in the passenger cell, is the X type just as well kitted out as the S type. I was told from other sources that the x type is just a refined Mondeo, I cant really see that myself. is the x type a luxury motor. Regards John

Hello All. I am a newbie to the site, I do not have a Jag at the moment but I am seriously thinking about getting one, I have been looking at the x series and the S series, around 2002 Reg. Manual Transmittion and Diesel. Can anybody please tell me. 1) Would a Diesel Jag be ok for towing a caravan, at the moment I pull with a Vauxhall Omega. 2) what is the difference between the X Series and the S Series, besides a different grill.
