Hi Jim ... Thanks for your reply , my car has done 50,800 miles and with regard to the gearbox being serviced I don`t know mate ... I had a garage look at the fault codes today and there were quite a few , maybe still on there the car was first used , anyway there were two that could be the problem , one a tirbo error and the other a gearbox fault , reading other posts these could be related ... I drove the car back approx 6 miles and the light came up and the car went into limp mode , its odd as its always arounf 6/7 miles after resetting it comes back on again . Tomorrow I`m going to drive to teh garage and see exactly what the faults are now in the ECU... Cheers Ray

Anyone had this problem before ? , The car has been reat since I bought on Christmas eve. Today got in it , pulled off the drive and got to the first junction , pulled out and the engine management came on and a waring "Gearbox Fault" flashed up under the speedo....stopped when I could ,switched off ,then tried it again ,fine no warning lights , carried on for 6 miles then it happened again , same as before stopped ,switched off ,re-started fine .Drove back from shopping approx 6 milles stopped at junction waiting to turn right ,pull off and agin the lights came on . It seems to get stuck in gear when the lights came on . Re-statrt it ,lights out and the box changes loverly again , Any ideas guys ???? Its a 2008 X-type 2.2d Soverign Auto ....

Hello mate , yeah good , they seem to make the ride a little less hard so I reclon I`ll be sticking to these now .... Look for a new home for my 17" wheels now .....

Hi guys... Anyone know the colour of a switched feed in the boot , I have the sovereign with the sat nav and multi changer and I need a switched live feed for my DAB converter ,any ideas .... There are so many wires going into the sat/changer just not to sure where to tap into ..... Cheers

Hi Guys ... I need a live lead so I can hard wire my Dab converter and my speed camera detector , do any of you know if I can take it from the ignition barrel as that`s easy to get to , and possibly what colour wire should I look for .. Both the units have in line fuses so shouldn`t need to connect to the fuse box .... Cheers

Hi guys I`m thinking of changing my wheel size to 16" wheels from 17" 235 /45/17 tires, so I can run a higher profile tire to hopefully give a smoother ride and less tire noise , has anybody done this to there jag and will it give a smoother,quieter drive ? Cheers

He didn`t do mate , couldn`t communicate with the ECU, however after speaking to the manufacturers of the ecu he is going to try again on Tuesday using a different protocol ... Fingers crossed

That`s why I prefer a diesel car .....

When I colledted it from Bristol , a three hour drive back home I got 45 mpg @70mph most of the way home .. But kicking around the town its doing around 30/33 mpg ...

Hi Guys ... Recently bought an X-type , 2008 2.2d auto Soveriegn , and I love the car , its class .. However the horn sounds aweful so I have ordered a new set , has anyone changed theres as it looks a nightmare to get to them which I belive are under the battery box ? Also has anyone added a tuning box to there x-types ? In the past I have fitted these to other diesels and had good results , not bothered about performance but better MPG is something I would like to improve .. Cheers Ray

Wooo that`s pricey joe .. My new 2012 upadted dvd arrived today so I`m gonna have a go at finding the kiwi file and see if I can add to it, to get speed camera alerts. Will post if I have any luck Ray .

Or just include the speed camera alerts on the upgrade dvd`s ? , as it seems all the navigation runs from the dvd , I don`t understand why its not included ... I upgraded my sd card for the nav on my previous car ,Citroen C5 and that came with the updated speed camera`s .... So if it can be placed on an SD card why not a DVD , odd ...!

Yeah it does sound a bit tricky Joe..... I have bought the last updated DVD ,2012 version but I guess it won`t come with speed camera alerts... I`d be very interested to know if you manage to do it mate , maybe you could let me know .. When I get the DVD I`ll see if I can make a copy and look for that kiwi file ... Cheers Ray

That`s a shame Peter , I always found that a bonus on my C5 nav ...... You would think it could be added to the update discs you can buy , just ordered a 2012 DVD , £19.95 posted ...
