  19. Thank you. Mechanic found a leak way back by the windshield (that’s my take on what he described) & has repaired it. Thank you for your response!
  20. Hi all, first time post. I have a 2018 Xf Sportbrake RSport. The rear passenger shock strut has failed and I'm struggling to find a replacement. It's adaptive suspension and the actual shock is fine. It's the strut that needs replacing but its very confusing. I've seen part number T2H34713 and t2h19520 gx6318080e quoted but can't be sure. Any help appreciated

Thanks for the tips. I did get in the boot and have my wife spray all around the lights and boot with the hose but couldn't see or feel any water coming in. I'll give the chalk/talcum powder idea a try as I hasn't thought of that. Didn't test the water but it was quite clear so assumed it was rain water. There were two small pools. One underneath the battery tray and the other in behind the fuse box
  24. Hi thanks for getting back so quick . Yeah the alternator was an approved jaguar one, the battery is showing about 12.8 when the engine is off and 14.4 when running so that is within the parameters. The rear bcm module ( fusebox) was replaced with a genuine brand new jaguar one and reprogrammed as the one that was in it had dragged due to water ingress so the car the car is no longer showing low voltage that has gone as have all the fault codes that were related to it when you run diagnostics. The warning is now "check pedestrian system" which has confused me somewhat as that was not there before
  25. Thanks Steve, It is very useful but the guy who built them before I bought the house used to build MGBs.... which are considerably shorter than most Cars so to fit the XK in I have use wheel skates and sit it at 45 degrees. Glad it is the width it is otherwise it would be useless 😁.
  26. Welcome to the club Rob, super jealous of the triple garage. Good luck with the head removal. Hopefully someone will be along who may know.
  27. That Jaguar U3002-81 code is a power supply problem to a control module, not a single failed sensor. One or more modules are seeing unstable, incorrect, or interrupted voltage. Most common causes (in order of likelihood) Weak or failing battery - Jaguars are extremely sensitive to battery voltage—even slightly low. Poor ground connections -corroded or loose chassis/engine grounds. Charging system issues - Alternator overcharging, undercharging, or voltage spikes. Blown or high-resistance fuses Especially BCM / PCM / Gateway fuses. Water ingress,vVery common in Jaguars (BCM, boot modules, footwell wiring). Recently disconnected battery or jump start Can trigger this code temporarily. First port of call make sure your terminals are super clean, making sure the ground has a good clean connection. Running charge voltage should be 13.7–14.7V... anything over 15 means bad alternator or regulator. Are you sure you got right alternator?
  28. Hey all, I have acquired a 2009 5.0L X150, my first Jaguar, for a fantastic price. As with all good things there is a catch. The Car runs but blows smoke out the exhaust, Head Gasket according to a independent Jaguar Mechanic. I can make use of a friends garage and pay to have the engine taken out and either change the head gaskets myself or get my friend to do the entire job. I also have a 3rd option and that is for me to do the job at home as a project. My main question is it possible to remove the heads whilst the engine is in the Car? I have been told that you struggle to remove the heads due to the inner strut towers but I was wondering if it was possible to unbolt and rotate the engine enough to pull the heads off to change the head gaskets? I understand that this is not a simple task, I am an ex professional racing driver, raised around Cars and have always fixed and fettled my own cars. I have a well equipped triple garage to work on the car. I also intend to get all the correct locking tools and also investing in a hydraulic scissor lift so I can get under the Car etc. I quite like the idea of a project but want to make sure that I am not biting off more than I can chew. Thanks in advance for the responses

  31. Hi all this is quite a story so please bear with this newbie. At the end of last year my beloved 2011 XF started showing the Low Voltage warning on the dash assuming the battery maybe on its last legs had it checked but came back absolutely fine. So took the car to a trusted local independent who diagnosed the alternator was on the way out so this and the belt were replaced but they couldn't clear the warning!! After doing a bit of digging they discovered that the rear fuse box was in poor health due to water ingress so this was replaced with a new genuine jaguar one and reprogrammed. Wonderful the low voltage warning was gone but shortly afterwards the check pedestrian system flashed up!!!!! I have an Icarsoft v3.0 so plugged it in and cleared the fault in case it was a glitch but as soon as the car is restarted it comes back on. Checked all the sensors and system and can't see anything obvious. The vehicle hasn't been bumped or damaged. Ran full scan and the only code that comes up is U3002-81. Car is running perfectly and all other systems are fully operational any of you knowledgeable people out there got any ideas what is going on???
  32. Ah...that makes sense. Much appreciated 😊👍
  33. What a beautiful machine and I definitely agree with you about the wheels Welcome to the club
  34. Ebay or breakers yard I would imagine would be your best bet if you want a specific colour
  35. It does sound like the fuel pump - usually when the level is low it is noisier
