Bonjour a tous,

I've started to seriously look for my first Jaguar so any advice would be welcome.  I have lived in the Drome France (dept. 26) for 10 years so I've started my search in France and found there are a surprising number of the cars I like (420, 420 G and XJ6).  Mileages seem generally lower than in the U.K. but I really don't have a clue what to look for other than general old car problems (I have an MGB GT, Sunbeam Alpine and Austin 1100) so any pointers to weak spots on these cars would be useful.

To be honest these cars scare me a bit so I'm looking for a car to drive and maintain but I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

I've found 2 cars on ebay I like the look of:
