InControl Apps

Featured Replies

hi all,

I've had my XF since May and have no end of trouble with the InControl apps on the iPhone. Intermittent connect and disconnect plagues me on almost every journey. I can do a two hour drive with music streaming from the phone to the car's systems and then on the return it either won't connect or keeps going on and off.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get around these issues?

I have the same problem on a 2017 model. Often  it says ‘In Control Apps not available’ despite tha IPhone being unlocked. It happens on both an IPhone 7 & 8. Is usually takes several attempts to get connected so now I choose my phone as the source, which connects straight away and then switch to In Control a little later. Not ideal though but saves some frustration.

The cars going in on Thursday for a number of things inc intermittent shut down of the whole screen. I’ll report back if they cure it.

Is there no way of having the Apps on the car/infotainment system rather than having them on the phone, streaming to the car? I may have wrongly assumed that once I put a sim in to the car that I wouldn't need a separate phone?

hi Ructions ... sadly not it relies on a connected phone to my understanding

@Darrelljbaldwin typical isn't it.... great systems that aren't robust; incidentally i've had a safety recall on mine - 'virtual instrument cluster - going blank'
