Featured Replies

Hi all I’m at the end of my tether here I’ve a 2008 XF ajd7g I’m onto engine number 2 the car has been in the garage for 6 months now garage has just rang to say the engine is no good after fitting it they got it started and it cuts out every time so they removed the covers and have said the cam chain has snapped so can this be replaced are will it of bent the valves

help much appreciated

Hi Mark, Seems strange to say engine starts but then cuts out. Not sure if it could do this if the timing chain has snapped, I would seek a second opinion. Someone with more knowlege than me should be able to make sense of this. Good luck.

Cheers

Engine wont star if chain snapped,if your car has been in the garage for 6 months there is something fishy going on,get your car home and get a second opinion,

Vey best of luck

Is you car a petrol or diesel?
