Hi all, I've just bought a 2004 V6 3 litre manual sportwagon with 200,000 kms on the clock. Everything works, all the electronics, and it has had one owner from new. I've had it fully serviced and checked over, it passed its MOT (ITV in Spain) in November, with no problems. I've had the shocks replaced with Jaguar parts, and  17 inch Pirelli tires on it. My mechanic says hold off on any more expenditure and get used to driving it for a few months. The engine compression is bang on, and Oil pressure fine. A couple of things that surprised me: revs at 3,000 if you go up to 125 kph. It's a five-speed, and that technical specs tell me that is bang on. It seems to be a very hard ride, you notice every manhole cover and the tiniest cracks in the road. But on the motorway, it's very smooth. I've been looking online and a lot of people say the same. I'd rather not get into replacing suspension arms or bushes, and much less the Macphersons... so I'd be interested to hear if other X type owners have had a similar experience...
