Help, I have 08 s type base, a two months ago my wife who is pregnant decided to move the steering column all the way forward and all the way up. Farther than our normal settings. When she did this the wires on the ignition starter pulled out.
The dealership reconnected the wires but it still wouldn't start so they thought the wires likely shorted out the ignition starter. They replaced this but had inconsistent voltage readings and we replaced the battery.

The dealer is now trying to program the existing key to the replacement ignition starter but are not having success. They are in contact with Jaguar specialist within UK,
If anyone has ideas or info that would be great. Thanks

That's unusual as the steering column adjustment should be able to take the full movement in/out and up/down.

I wonder if the ignition switch assembly has previously been changed for the wrong one?
