Help and advice needed, 3.0 v6 auto 2003 plate. On starting the engine the brake pedal drops about 1/2 inch, this means it engages the brake light switch ever so slightly, thus it struggles to change up the gears, because it thinks you are braking. Also for the same reasons, cruise control wont engage.
However if you drive with your left foot under the brake pedal, holding it up, everything works perfect.
So my question is what is causing the pedal to drop the 1/2 inch? The servo feels like it is holding a vacuum, could it be an air leak on the vacuum pipe? Could it be air in the brake lines?
Any advice really appreciated.
