Xjs seat

Featured Replies

Hi, the passenger electric seat to my 1991 convertible XJS will only move an inch or so either way so its basically stuck in the middle position thus i am unable to access the bolts to remove the seat, any one know how the movement is regulated as the relay cuts in ok and the motor runs fine but it simply then stops when more is required? Also is there a manual way of removing the seat from the runners??

On my 94 XJS 2+2 the seat would only move with the ignition off an inch or so in either direction. I would have to activate the switch again to move the seat further. With the ignition on the seat would move in either direction fully. I discovered this when I would want to vacuum or clean something from outside the interior and needed to move the seat. I hope this helps.
