Canbus Fault -Communication between ABS and engine managemen

My car battery recently required recharging after something was left on and ever since the engine management light is on,the mechanic diagnosed the fault as a canbus fault,mentioned something about a failure in communication between the ABS and the engine management.Has anyone had a similar issue or can advise what might be the issue ?
