Hi everyone I am Jay and I am new to this group but hoping for some good advice if possible please. 

I have been offered a 2008 X type 2.0d which has done 90,000 miles with full service history and in very good condition. 

And advise on what I should be looking for when I go to view it tomorrow would be really appreciate

Hi Jay and welcome!

Check underneath the car for rust on the sills, wheel arches etc. People say 06 and beyond they fixed the rust issue, but I've seen 08s with rust.

You wanna listen out for injector knock too and smoke upon acceleration. You have those, you've likely got stuffed injectors that cost a fair bit to sort. If the injectors aren't knocking, but it's kicking out smoke upon acceleration could be a bunged up DPF or EGR valve.

Check the clutch is OK, you don't want knocking/rattling when you start the car or shut it off. That's typically a smypton of the DMF going, which in turn usually means your clutch is about done for too. That's the best part of a grand to sort out.

 

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, do your usual checks of the electrics ie mirrors, windows, lights etc.
