Afternoon was looking for some help!!

I have a 2010 Jaguar XKR 5.0 S/C

what is the correct Spec of Oil and the Quantity required as there seems to be some contradiction.

Hi Shaun, the variance likely comes about because there is no drain plug on the 5.0 S/C engine and the Oil should be removed by "vacuuming" out via the tube designed specifically for the task. You are then required to replace the exact amount removed and thereby avoid over filling. That said, the following should be adhered to, including the Oil removed with the filter replacement:

Quantity: 7.25 Litres

Type: 0W-20 or 5W-20

Specification: Fully Synthetic to Jaguar recommended spec. WSS-M2C925A/STJLR.51.5122

Hope this helps.

Thank you N6 JMX, that was really helpful, sadly because it has to be vacuumed out I guess I will have to take it to a garage!!

Hi Shaun, if you are a competent home mechanic, then believe it or not, completing a service on the X-150 XKR is not as daunting as it may first appear. You can purchase an Oil vacuum for realistic money and with the cost of labour at garages, that outlay can be recovered in just a couple of services - years.

I do have access to a handy home service guide for both the X-150 and X-100 for anyone wishing to read up on the matter.

Morning N6JMX

Thanks for the info, a service guide for the X150 XKR would come in really handy if you don’t mind?

Ex RAF Engineer don’t like paying for jobs I can do myself!!

Regards

Shaun
