Hi all,

I wonder if anyone could help me I have jaguar xk8 with an alpine satnav unit and I’m searching for a DVDRom does anyone have one for sale or could burn me a copy for a cost as I am struggling to acquire one. 
 

I don’t want updated maps just whatever came with the car is fine.

Hi Karl, do you mean your car has the central Satnav screen as opposed to the more desirable 3 dials in the centre of the dashboard? There is a very easy DIY modification to replace the central screen with a latest Garmin Satnav, which gives significant more functionality, including lifetime free updates, the ability to add a reversing camera, etc.

If this is something that you might like to consider, if you send me a PM with an email address, I can forward you a detailed instruction page.

If you want to stick with the original, out of date Satnav, then don't bother with updated discs as there are lots of reports of pirate discs corrupting the system and leaving a bigger headache than you might think.
