Engine choice

Featured Replies

Hi there, I am looking for an XJ sedan 2003-2009 as I think this represents the pinnacle of Jaguar saloon styling but am slightly baffled as to which engine to chose - 3.0 V6, 2.7 Tdi or V8. No doubt there are advocates for each  - i am familiar with V8’s from previous earlier XJ 3.2 ownership but have no knowledge of the V6 (is it punchy enough, does it feel like a Jag)?). I have read good things about the 2.7D but wonder does it suffer from the  same regular  ‘particulate filter’ clogging issues that my Audi A6 did that drove me to distraction

any bc advice very gratefully received!

thanks

john
